And the culmination is scholarship. This place boasts not only philosophy, but also physics and biology, as a "tower of logic" with original ideas and strong support for them. Among them, philosophy was dominant before the war, with Kitaro Nishida, Motoori Norinaga, and Iwao Takayama reigning over the philosophical world as the so-called "Kyoto School". They sent geniuses like Kiyoshi Miki, Torataro Shimomura, and Tetsuzo Tanigawa to the Kanto region.
